Religious tensions have risen in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan following the death of a Hindu.
The victim, a tailor named Kanhaiya Lal, was killed by two Muslim men in Udaipur district.
The attackers made a video of the incident and posted it online.
The move comes in the wake of a politician’s controversial remarks about the Muslim cleric, the Prophet Muhammad.
Last month, BJP leader Nupur Sharma made controversial remarks about Muhammad in a televised debate.
Muslim countries opposed India over his remarks. The ruling BJP had suspended Nupur from the post of party spokesperson.
The government has shut down internet services and banned large gatherings. Police have arrested two people who identified themselves in the video.
In another video, they have even threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajasthan Police has requested the media outlet not to broadcast the video saying it is too horrible to watch.
