Child abducted from Janakpur: Safe rescue after 15 days

Police have rescued a three-year-old boy abducted from Janakpur after 15 days.

Police have rescued Sohan Chaudhary, a three-year-old son of Hariom Chaudhary, a resident of Bhamrapurachowk, Janakpur Sub-Metropolis-7, Dhanusha.

Police have also arrested a woman and her child on the charge of being involved in the abduction. The arrested is Maithun Khatun, 55, of Pipara Gaonpalika-4 of Mahottari. Khatun and his child were arrested by the police this afternoon.

Khatun hid the child in her own house. According to Dhanusha Superintendent of Police Basanta Rajaure, the woman was arrested on the basis of special information.

The children, who had come out of the room to play in front of the house at 7 am on July 20, were abducted. The locals said that the identity of the woman was not known. Dhanusha police was active in the search for the boy as soon as the information was received.

A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Dhanusha, in collaboration with the Area Police Office, Sahodwa, Mahottari, arrested the woman from her home.

A case has been registered against Khatun for abduction and hostage-taking, said Superintendent of Police Rajaure.
